2019 Kia Forte and 2020 Kia Soul Awarded “Best Cars For Teens,” by U.S. News & World Report

Both Vehicles Recognized as Standouts in Their Respective Segments

School is back in session. Thousands of students have begun to head back to the classroom, as many schools in Tulsa, and surrounding communities, open for a brand-new school year. As in every year, there’s a new group of teenagers who are driving to school for the first time. Many parents of first-time driving teenagers experience a variety of mixed feelings; one of them often being nervousness. It’s helpful to know their teen is in a safe and reliable vehicle. So, what vehicles are best for teenage drivers?

U.S. News & World Report has compiled a list of the Best New and Used Cars for Teens, for 2019. The digital news and information company affirms that their list is a great resource for parents, writing, “Reliability should top the priority list for concerned parents. Accordingly, safety and dependability are the foundation of the U.S. News Best Cars for Teens awards. Parents can rest assured that all the vehicles on this list are sensible choices for new drivers.” [1]

Two out of nine, of the new vehicles, to have been recognized in the 2019 Best New Cars for Teens awards, were new Kia models. U.S. News & World Report awarded the 2019 Kia Forte “Best Car for Teens $25k to $30k” and the 2020 Kia Soul “Best SUV for Teens $25k to $30k.”

The 2019 Kia Forte was praised for its reliability and available advanced driver assistance technologies. The editors at U.S. News & World Report had the following to say about the 2019 Forte, “The Forte also has plenty of space for your teen’s friends and gear, as well as a laundry list of safety features that are available to help keep them safe…Overall, the Forte is a strong option to consider for your teenager.” [2]

Redesigned for the 2020 model year, Kia’s iconic Soul was honored for earning an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating and available Kia Drive Wise technology. The editors at U.S. News & World Report had the following to say about the 2020 Soul, “The Soul has also earned a Top Safety Pick+ designation. The Soul should be at the top of your list if you want to buy a safe and dependable SUV for your teenage driver.” [3]
